  • Addicts helping addicts is part of what makes AA/NA so effective. Sponsorship involves one recovering addict walking another through the Steps and helping them stay sober. A sponsor is someone you call when you need emotional support or feel threatened by relapse.
  • Sponsorship in AA is basically the same, whether in helping another individual’s recovery or in service to a group. It can be defined as one alcoholic who has made some progress in recovery and/or performance or service, sharing this experience with another alcoholic who is just starting the journey.
  • The 12 Concepts of AA do for AA as a world-wide organizations what the 12 Steps do for personal recovery and what the 12 Traditions do for harmonious and effective functioning of AA Groups.(More information about AA’s 12 Steps and 12 Traditions can be found in the AA books, Alcoholics Anonymous and Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.)The 12 Concepts for World Service provide the framework within which AA as a world-wide organization functions. The 12 Concepts are listed below in “short form.” For a detailed explanation on how they operate, obtain a copy of the most current edition of the AA book, The A.A. Service Manual combined with Twelve Concepts for World Service by Bill W.

The Way of Strength

We need not apologize to anyone for depending upon the Creator. We have good reason to disbelieve those who think spirituality is the way of weakness. For us, it is the way of strength. The verdict of the ages is that men of faith seldom lack courage. They trust their God. So we never apologize for our belief in Him. Instead, we try to let Him demonstrate, through us, what He can do.
